Go and take some more buckets out for the animals on Highside, Langcliffe and Malham. Fix another water trough.

2nd Take a few bales out. Go to Wigan to collect Coinneach of Borland who has been looking after 4 cows. Cleaned the trailer out.

And where were the stewards tonight ? stood at the front because we are going to invade the pitch obviously. Not one attempt to make us sit down.

3rd

Do the VAT. We go and see another great performance but Defoe scores a hat-trick to knock us out of the cup.

4th

Mend a couple of water troughs that have been causing problems.

5th

Take some tyres off the silage sheet and move the sheet back a bit.

6th

Don't do much apart from watching the 2 rugby internationals.

7th

Mick and family come to pick a yearling heifer that they want to exchange for a steer, after a lot of thought Mick decides on Andrena.

8th Go up on to Langcliffe and then Highside where I find a cow that has calved and a dead cow unfortunately. I don't know why but Grace of Cnoc is the cow that has died, I drag her to the road side where the Tiny the knacker man will collect her. I then manage to get the cow and calf and 2 more cows into the trailer and home.
Raymond and Sheila come to have a look at the bulls to pick one out for hiring later this year.

9th Cleaned the building out at Wenningber. D Hall delivered 2 holstein bull calves for our barley beef system.

Travel up to Carlisle to see us win on the night but lose on penalties. I hope the morons who attacked our players and tried to goad the Leeds fans into a battle enjoy their day out at Wembley.

10th

Stapletons come to put spread some slurry, so I stir up the slurry in the pit and empty the underground tank. Jack and I go to Wheelton near Blackburn to pick up a cow that I have bought. Andrew Stapleton comes to get paid for his contracting work. The swine.

R & R Newhouse bring a load of straw.

11th Take a look round all the outlying animals. Take bales to all those that have them. Take some tyres off the silage clamp and move the sheet back.

12th Andy is in charge for a couple of days as we are heading to Oban for the show and sale.
We have a lovely drive to Scotland. When we arrive at Cladich Tom takes us on a tour of his fold, the scenery and the cows are stunning.
13th After a leisurely morning wandering round Oban. I have a council meeting. Then we go upto the mart for a master class given by 3 prominent breeders.
14th Show day. I am stewarding which is very enjoyable and a great way to meet people. Well done to Alan Kennedy on having his first Oban champion.
15th Sale day. Didn't buy anything for myself but bought some animals for other people. A nice steady trade with a top of 5600gns.
16th Have a nice drive back from Edinburgh via Hawick and other border towns. Make it home in time to see a defeat to Walsall. This was not expected.
17th Up early to go down to Stoneleigh to the National all breeds show. Holsteins,Jerseys,Ayrshire's,Brown Swiss and Shorthorns. A very good display of cattle.
18th Go round all the animals on the hills. Have a visit from the FABBL inspector, another box ticking exercise.
19th Sorted 7 of my holstein heifers out in to a separate bit of the cubicles. These are going to used as recipients for some embryo's. I also did them for BVD and Leptospirosis and gave them all trace boluses.
20th It is a good job there is injury time as we scrape a draw. Manage to stay stood up for most of the game even though that prat no 242 was very annoying. Father broke one of the track rod ends on the quad bike so he had to take it to Clitheroe to get fixed.

26th Bales to all lots outside. Cleaned the trailer out. Went to look at the cattle at Langcliffe.
27th Why is it always so cold and wet in Huddersfield ?. A draw was a fair result after a poor first half.
28th After the feeder wagon bed chain decided to come off the cogs and an hours messing to get it back on again, why is it always a Sunday morning. We went over to Newton-on-Ouse for lunch with Sarah and Ben and his parents. Gary came and collected his 4 cows that have been here since last July.
