| The Farm - Green
Farm is situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, with our animals
grazing within the National Park. We farm about 350 acres in three
blocks from Green Farm, Hellifield. The land runs to 850ft above sea
level and takes in both heavy clay and free draining soils. In addition
we run some of our Highland cattle at the Malham Cove beauty spot
under an agreement with another farmer. The Cows - The fold (herd) has been built up with animals chosen for their superior genetics from top folds in Britain. From our original two cows the fold has grown to over 100 head Highland cattle with plans for much greater expansion. The Butcher - The animals are butchered locally at CCM Quality Foods, a modern state of the art licensed butchering facility at Skipton Auction Mart where it is left to hang and mature for a minimum of three weeks to develop the full flavour. This all lends to producing a quality meat with very low 'food mileage'. The Beef - With our Highland Beef animals being raised predominantly on grass, this extremely natural, healthy product is low in fat, low in cholesterol, high in Omega 3 and very tasty! |
